The Right Honourable Lord Kenneth Clark (1903-1983)

As well as being one of the best-known art historians of his generation, London born Kenneth Clark, advised on General Post Office stamp and poster design for three decades. In 1965, he resigned as chairman of the Stamp Advisory Committee. This was because he was at odds with the changes to stamp design being encouraged by then Postmaster General Tony Benn.
