‘Send your good wishes by greetings telegram’ by Abram Games (c.1938)
Abram Games, like his contemporary, Tom Eckersley, fell into the category of ‘young artists and beginners’ commissioned by the Post Office in the 1930s. Games’ instructions for the above design were simply ‘it had to be good, and it had to be arresting’. Games deemed this design to be one of the best he ever produced for the Post Office.
