Post on two wheels
By 1933, some 200 million miles were being covered each year by the cycle posts. Various suppliers such as Elswick, James and Townsend have manufactured cycles for Royal Mail, but by far the largest supplier has been Pashley, who became the main supplier in 1977. A standard design had been adopted in 1929 and this remained virtually unaltered until 1992, a total of 63 years.
