Home Gallery ‘Pack your parcels carefully’ by Hans Unger (1960)
Hans Unger was born in Germany in 1915, emigrated to South Africa, and moved to London in 1948. There, he was a prolific poster designer and produced posters for London Transport as well as the Post Office. Unger produced a number of posters on the theme of packing parcels carefully, a major Post Office publicity campaign in the 1950s. Food stuffs, from bacon to berries to fish, were all able to travel safely if packed carefully. Last year over three million parcels were processed through the Royal Mail network a day.
