Maritime Heritage – Nelson and the Victory (1982)
1982 was designated Maritime England Year. It was also the year Henry VIII’s flagship, the Mary Rose, was raised from Portsmouth Harbour. Marjore Saynor was asked by Royal Mail to design the series commemorating maritime heritage. The 24p features Horatio Nelson and the HMS Victory from which he commanded British forces at the Battle of Trafalgar.
