League for Universal Penny Postage, 1905
The League for Universal Penny Postage was established in 1905 by John Henniker Heaton. Pressure mounted for a penny rate to the United States and France. In 1908, a penny post was introduced between Britain, Australia, New Zealand and America. Heaton’s campaign for a penny post to the rest of the world came to nothing.
