This diary was written by a Post Office Rifle, Sergeant Thomas May, in 1915. Thomas May entered Royal Mail as a teenage assistant postman. His diary details his time in the Post Office Rifles as he made his way to the fighting front in France. May was badly wounded during the War, but survived, and returned to work at Royal Mail.
