Transferring the famous Queen’s head (1968)

The Machin head of The Queen has become a British icon. With an estimated 180 billion stamps printed to date, it is one of the most reproduced images in history. This transfer roller was produced for the £1 Machin high value stamp and was used to transfer the image from the master die to the printing plate.
