Telegram Pouch (1930s)

The telegram was invented in the late 1700s. But it took over 100 years for the public to start using them. By the 1930s, 65 million telegrams were being delivered per year, mostly by young men on bicycles or motorcycles – the telegram messenger boys. This telegram pouch is made of natural light brown canvas with an envelope flap with a brown chamois leather tab that fastens to a brass button.
