Queen Victoria 2d blue (1840)

Immediately after the QV 1d red, the 2d label (the Twopenny Blue) also became available. By the end of January 1841 two plates for the Twopenny Blue had printed almost 6½ million stamps. The Penny Black allowed a letter weighing up to half an ounce to be sent anywhere within Britain; the Two Penny Blue's weight limit was a full ounce.
