POCO promoting postcode usage

In 1985, after successful trials at Mount Pleasant, the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system for automatically reading postcodes was introduced nationally. This helped speed up the rate for processing letters. A cartoon elephant called POCO was used to promote the use of postcodes.
