Laurie Lee MBE (1914-1997)

Laurie Lee was born in Stroud in Gloucestershire and was an English poet, novelist and screenwriter. He was most famous for his autobiographical trilogy which consisted of Cider with Rosie, As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning and A Moment of War. Initially an assistant sound recordist he also scripted documentary films for the GPO Film Unit in the early years of the Second World War.
