Keeping employees up to date

With so many staff working for Royal Mail, good in-house communication was vital. For the last 130 years there has been a magazine to share news and updates. Launched in 1885, the original journal was called The Blackfriars Magazine and focused on the lives of senior staff. It was later renamed St Martin’s le Grand in 1890.

In 1934, a new, glossier version launched under the title The Post Office Magazine. For over 30 years, it shared stories and photographs intended to show the postal service at its best, cheerfully and efficiently delivering services to the community. Rebranded in 1966 as Courier, this publication carries staff news to this day.
