‘Is your wireless licensed?’ by Hans Arnold Rothholz (1950)

Born in Dresden, Germany, Hans Arnold Rothholz emigrated to London with his family in 1933. Rothholz was one of several émigré designers producing work for the Post Office during this period. He trained in Commercial Art at the Reimann School, London, a successor of the renowned Reimann Schule in Berlin, and the first commercial art school in Britain, influenced by Bauhaus and international modernism. This poster is one of 27 pieces of artwork and published posters by Rothholz we have in our collection.
