Introduction of PDAs

In 2007, postal digital assistants (PDAs) were distributed to frontline staff as part of a five-year investment programme introduced by Adam Crozier, who was chief executive of Royal Mail between 2002 and 2010.

The PDAs were developed to enable more flexible delivery for customers and better tracking. More than 76,000 hand-held devices are used throughout the business today.
