Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) was the main supplier of motorcycles to Royal Mail. This Bantam, with engine sizes of 125cc, 150cc and later, 175cc, was the most widely used model. First purchased in 1948, Bantams were used on telegram work as well as on postal duties. They are fondly remembered by those who started their Royal Mail careers as messenger boys.
